Roon Not launching windows 10 64 bit

I have recently installed roon and roon server and when launching roon I get the splash screen and then the program closes. I have tried running as administrator with no luck. Controlling roon through the remote ipad app with the server running works fine but no luck using only the roon app on the windows 10 pc with the roon server app on it.

Windows is up to date as of 3/9/19

Which roon app did you install on W10?

Roon v1.6 64bit

Once again, I feel compelled to mention that, except for a very specific reason which probably isn’t the case here, one doesn’t need both Roon and Server on the same machine.

Could this be the causes of your confusion?

I meant which packages. I suspect you have too many installs.

If you are installing on one physical device, a single PC, you installed roon. Not roon and roon server.

Thanks for contacting us regarding this issue. Let me clarify one thing first – You can run both Roon and RoonServer on the same machine, I have been doing so for a while now with no reported issues. I usually have RoonServer running and then use Roon “as a Remote” to control the RoonServer instance on the same machine.

It would only cause issues if the machine were underpowered and either Roon or RoonServer takes up too many resources and prevents the other one working properly, but I suspect this is not the case here. As for the main issue, I am thinking this could be due to your OpenGL or something similar, let’s try something here:

I suspect you might have an Intel HD4000 card which has some known OpenGL issues with Roon, installing 32-bit version of Roon helps, but does not always resolve this issue. I would also update your Intel drivers to the newest version, you should check both the manufacturer website and Intel, as I have sometimes seen one have more updated versions than the other. Please let me know if that helps!
