Description of Issue

Roon no longer detects my Stack Audio LINK II.
It is clearly visible on the network via Stack Audio’s interface, but Roon fails to detect it.

I’ve tried rebooting my gear in the following order: Router, Nucleus and I’ve even reinstalled StackOS onto the LINK, but Roon still won’t detect the LINK. @StackAudio

Does the Link show up in Settings=>About?

No. Unfortunately.

Very strange! Almost as if Roon Bridge or RAAT is not running. What happens if you enable Squeezelite on the Link and Squeezebox streaming in Roon?

Any recent changes / additions to your network?
Strip it down to the minimum to rule out other participants.

Stop Roon make a backup of the RAATserver folder by renaming the current one, restart Roon and see if it sees it? You will loose settings on the zones you have as it resets them but it might solve the issue.

How do I do that?

What you use for core?

Just find the RAATserver folder

If you use rock or nucleus just go to the data folder and you will see it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it didn’t work :slightly_frowning_face:

Have you tried enabling squeezebox mode and Squeezelite to see if that shows up?

If I enable Shairport-Sync it shows up as an Airplay device.

But still not showing as a Roon Ready device.

I’m not sure where the problem is? With Roon or StackOS?

AirPlay uses a different discovery method to RAAT. How is it connected? To a switch or direct to router? Is the core on same switch or direct to router.

I take it it works via AirPlay as well?

Nucleus/Core and LINK are connected to the same NETGEAR switch via Cat6 cables. I’ve tried changing cables, and even tried connecting the LINK directly to the ASUS router. But to no avail.

Very strange I guess you will need to see if support can see if the logs show up anything about it.

SOLVED!

In order for Roon to detect the LINK as a Roon-Ready device on the network, a DAC MUST be connected via USB AND powered-on in order that Roon can send files to the LINK. Without a connected/powered-on DAC, Roon will not ‘see’ the LINK.
