Hello,
I recently downloaded roon and installed it on my Windows 10 PC. The software installed easily detecting my my Chord Hugo 2 and selecting the /music folder. However once installed it cannot detect any music in the /music folder. I have added the ./music/itunes folder and even an album folder, still nothing. I then started a trial for Tidal and it connected but then couldn’t play to the hugo. Actually, it said there was no device. doing a refresh on the local devices just seems to run continuously.
I tried installing this on my mac and it works fine.
I then tried re-installing again on my PC and can get Tidal to send sound to the Hugo, (Though you cannot change the volume except on the hugo, it says its volume is fixed). However, it still does not see any itunes music.
Any ideas here as to what could be the problem?
Thanks for contacting support, I’d be happy to assist here. Do you by any chance have a firewall active on your Windows 10 PC? I would double check that Roon is added as an exception for both Windows Defender and any AV software you may have on that computer. Fixed volume is expected for the Hugo 2, although you can use DSP Volume to control it from within Roon.
Can you can post a screenshot of your Settings -> Audio page, a screenshot of your Settings -> Storage page and a screenshot of Windows Explorer that shows the directory that you are trying to add for your /music folder? Screenshots of those would be helpful as to see what is going on and these screenshots should look like this:
Thank you for the screenshots. I would go ahead and change the names for your Chord Zones (where it says “Unnamed” and write something like “Chord Hugo 2 WASAPI” for the first unnamed zone and “Chord Hugo 2 ASIO” for the second unnamed zone as to be able to properly identify them when trying to playback to that specific zone.
As for the music files not importing from the iTunes folder, can you please try to drag-and-drop a track from your iTunes directory into Roon and let me know if that track imports properly? Do any of your tracks by chance show up in “Skipped Files” in Roon Settings -> View Skipped Files? Do you have any special characters in your Track Names that could be causing issues as per our documentation?
