Mike, Thanks for the follow up. All is peachy keen! Some settings in my wifi router were not as they should have been. The router was set to 5 mbps download speed when in fact we have 25 mbps ( in a rather rural community in north Georgia so Windstream is the ONLY option ). Also my laptop that I generally use as the Roon remote was somehow set to look for “other” wifi signals even when it was connected to the dedicated wifi router for the Roon Nucleus. Re-set those things and it has been solid ever since.
