Hi @Eduardo_Cruz,

Thank you for your post. From our diagnostics, one of the Mac remotes on this network is sitting on a different subnet than the Nucleus. Do you have multiple routers operating on this network? Roon doesn’t function well across subnets - network discovery and other multicast-based features begin to fail.

We’d be happy to provide more granular assistance if you can share the detailed network topology involved. Thank you!

Hi. I own two different Nucleus at different locations. Make sure you are not mixing them. The one I am trying to connect to is rhe Nucleus + at same location and same subnet. I have no problems accessing it via iPhone remote.

The problem is the Mac App access. It’s not a different subnet issue.

Happy to get into more specifics if you like but I can assure you the above is correct.

Hi @Eduardo_Cruz ,

We are seeing 3 separate subnets tied to your devices, it looks like the Mac is on a subnet of 192.168.20.XYZ, one of the Nucleus is on a 192.168.10.XYZ and the other is on a 192.168.60.XYZ subnet, are you seeing differently on your end?

Hi. You are seeing two different systems. The networks have a VPN between them but I don’t use that for Roon but to connect other equipment

Specifically the one I’m having problems with the Roon Nuclues + is at Ip 192.168.10.xx and the Mac Studio is on 192.168.10.xx. Same subnet. Same location. That room app on that Mac just can’t complete connection to it.

The other network at a different location has a room on 192.168.20.xx and a local Mac Mini on 192.168.20.xxx. I have no problems with that one.

Hope that helps

Hey @Eduardo_Cruz,

Thanks for the additional clarity here.

To confirm, are you running multiple servers within the same location? Or, was this a typo above? Note you’ll only be able to run a single server within a single Roon license - I’d make sure if you’re running Roon Server on your Nucleus, that you’ve disabled Roon Server on your Mac.

Within the Mac itself, it may be good to review your firewall settings - try temporarily disabling your Mac firewall and see if you’re able to connect to your Nucleus in this setup.

We’re not seeing any instance of this Mac tied to your admin, could you please use the directions found here and send over a set of Roonlogs from your Mac to our File Uploader?

With that, lets perform a Roon database refresh on your Mac, and see if that helps reconnect your devices:

  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists

Hi. No I only run a single Roon nucleus at each location

My Mac is on latest version of Sequoia

I have tried turning off the Mac internal firewall a few times but it made no difference.

I did delete and reinstall the Roon Mac app a couple or times but that also did not fix the problem.

When I return this weekend I will try your last suggestion to do a fresh install of the app and let you know. Thank you for the suggestion.

Hi @Eduardo_Cruz,

Sounds good - if you could also send over a set of Roon logs from the Mac as well, that would help us further investigate potential issues.

I’d give your router a reboot as well while you’re troubleshooting. :+1:

ok. I tried the steps you recommended and still no good. I cannot use the the Roon Nucleus+ app to control my Roon from a wired Mac on my network even though I can ping it, I can access the Nucleus + web interface and I can also control it from my iPhone IOS app on same network. Very puzzling

How do I get you the logs
