Roon often stops between tracks

ROCK

NUC11TNHi7, 8gb RAM, 256GB M.2 SSD - the exact kit recommended by Roon.

I have been using this for a few months now

Network via Ethernet BT latest router

Connected (end points) to Auralic Altair G1, 2 Raspberry PI’s (One using Ropiee, and one not) and one Windows Laptop

roon build 1299 installed

External Hard Drive connected to ROCK - exFat formatted

Library 61974 tracks

ISSUE

I often just have the entire library on random, however, for a couple of weeks now, about 30% of the time the track about to be played just doesn’t start.

At these points I can hear the ROCK working hard

Could this be an internet issue ir something to do with the connection to the ROCK?

I am just puzzled as to how to fix it

Any ideas please?

Thanks

How are your core and endpoints connected to the BT router?

Core and Auralic end point via ethernet, others via wi-fi

Thanks

Hey @Ken_Talbot,

Ben with the support team here - thanks for writing in!

If possible, could you test out playing to a single hardwired endpoint and see if you can recreate this issue? If you do, can you please share the name of the track playing when the issue occurs?

I’ll be on standby for your reply. Thanks!

Hi Benjamin

Thank you very much for being in touch

Would hard wired via ethernet cable via the hub meet your criteria?

If not would an ethernet cable direct to the end point do?

With over 60,000 tracks in my library the problem occurs with any track either on my hard drive or Qobuz

Thanks

Hey @Ken_Talbot,

Either would be good to test! Grabbing a specific timestamp is also helpful in this case. Thanks!
