Roon on Cocktail Audio X14

Love this little beast. I have several TB’s of lossless files that I’ve loaded onto an internal drive, along with a Tidal subscription. Would love to try out Roon to manage my music but have no idea where to start. There’s no documentation that I can find other than notations that it is a “Roon-ready” device. When I’m not controlling the X14 directly from the unit, I’m using either my MacBook Pro, iPhone, or iPad. The mobile software and the web interface leave something to be desired to say the least.

Can anyone offer some guidance? Thanks!

Hi @Vick_Griffin,

I’d definitely suggest using the guide @ged_hickman1 posted to get you up and running, for Roon to work here you need to install the “Core” app on a PC, such as your Macbook. Once the Core has been set up, you can enable your Cocktail Audio zone as per the instructions. If you have any issues getting started, just let us know and we can take a look!

Did you ever get the x14 to play nice with Roon?
I am considering buying one to use as a small second system all in one but the ability to be a Roon endpoint successfully and consistently is paramount.

Kevin - my setup is in a different city from where I’m currently sheltering in place, so my plans to set up with x14 with Roon have been indefinitely delayed.

The Cocktail Audio X14 is designated as a Roon Ready device, meaning we have tested it in-house and it has passed our certification process. I don’t suspect you’ll have any issues using it with Roon, but if you do, let us know and we can help.
