I have roon installed on Intel Nuc. I see device getting turned off time to time. Only reason could be I did not use for few days. Is it the reason it is shutting down and if I can avoid? Thanks.
Is the NUC running Rock or windows OS?
Could it possibly be a power glitch?
I have the NUC/ROCK, stays up 24/7 on a UPS backup system. Only shutdown if required for Roon updates or maintenance. I use it daily but on a few occasions it has gone a week or more without being used.
Thermal shutdown if it’s a new install and processing your library it takes a lot of resources if machines a bit old it might be getting overheated?
It is running Rock. Not sure if it getting shutdown after auto applying any fixes.
If it is configured to install updates automatically, then it should restart after an update (but not shut down)
It is happening again and again to shutdown automatically. I only bought NUC 6 months back. I looked at http://rock and don’t see any settings. Let me know anywhere else I can check
I still see my nuc is getting turned off once in few days. I absolutely don’t see anything in http://rock page to configure. I have this
Intel NUC 11 NUC11PAHi7 Panther Canyon Desktop Mainsteam Kit, Barebone,Intel Core i7-1165G7 4-Core, 2.8 GHz – 4.7 GHz Turbo,8 Thread, 12MB Cache, 28W Intel Iris Xe Graphics,Add’t Components Needed.
It is not a big deal as it only happens once in few days. But still trying to find if anyone has solution.
You should probably open a topic in Support, you won’t get official help here in the discussion section of the forum
Being an 11 series they can get very hot especially if turbo is on. Is it analysing your library still or has that process all finished? Might be going into thermal shutdown if it’s getting too hot. Are you using a fanless case or in the stock fan based one? Might be worth checking out if the fan is working and not clogged up with dust.
Thanks. Is it possible to turn off turbo? How do I know if I am using fan? Otherwise, I will open this weekend.
Bios setting to turn off turbo. Google you will find out where to.
Put it through its paces perhaps upsampling and listen for the fan. Or take the bottom off as that’s where it’s located and see if it comes on. Other than that not much else to suggest. If it’s not coming on it might shutdown pretty quick if upsampling.
