Roon OS 1.0 build 260 is actually 257

Hi,

I just installed Roon OS early access for the first time - I thought I should match my ROCK version to my server and remotes. I followed the instructions and it reinstalled successfully. However, I have gone from build 259 production to build 257 earlyaccess

Was the link wrong or have I made a mistake somehow?

I used the file link in this post: EarlyAccess: RoonOS 1.0 Build 260 is Live!

I just had the same result…

Thanks for report, we are checking, stand by…

@Michael_Curtis, @Johnny_Maelstrom,

It appears that both of you are running a non-UEFI version of RoonOS. As mentioned in the release notes, this update is exclusively for devices running UEFI versions.

Given the subtle nature of this distinction, we will adjust the notes to make it clearer. To reiterate, this update will only be applied to devices created using RoonOS 1.0 Build 254 or later. Devices originally installed prior to November 9, 2022, will not receive this update. Please note that this is nothing to be concerned about, as the update only applies to newer hardware enabled in Build 254.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for the clarification. We have another ROCK Roon server at our weekend apartment which I wiped and reinstalled with UEFI boot a few months ago. I’ll give that a go when we’re there.

Thanks @vova, I knew there was a reason I hadn’t updated before. I couldn’t be bothered to take a working system enable UEFI again and reinstall ROCK and restore backups.

Should I go back to production assuming build 259 has improvements over 257? Would you recommend going UEFI at all if I wanted to go to v 260?
