This helps our team gather all the necessary information to solve your issue as quickly as possible. Thank you!
Our system consists of Nucleus feeding our Lyngdorf 3400. A couple of weeks ago it suddenly started to behave strangely when playing 2L MQA encoded albums. After a few minutes the music becomes heavily distorted and corrupted. If I stop the the music and restart it, it will sound OK for a few minutes and then the distortion comes back again. If I press Pause and then Play the distortion persists.
This occurs with both Tidal and Qobuz, although Qobuz lists the music as non MQA the 3400 still reports it as being MQA.
There are also some audible clicks before it all goes bananas.
I notice that if I push the little blue dot to see the processing Nucleus and 3400 do, the processing is not constant. There is one line of processing that keeps appearing and disappearing before it all crashes.
I will also contact 2L directly to draw their attention to the problem.
P.S. I am sorry that I was unable to press the Get help as all I could see is the script you use, as can be sees on this Page.
Kind regards
AceRimmer

Did this coincide with an update to say the 3400 firmware?
Or if not so, does it need an update?
Lastly, please provide a timestamp of when this issue last occurred, or the name of the track that was playing. We’ll use this to pinpoint the event in diagnostics.
Make sure DSP is disabled within MUSE in Roon when you test to minimize the number of variables involved. Thank you!
File examples that can be used are e.g.
Quiet winter night, Hoff ensemble, record label 2L
Ragnhild Hemsing, Beethoven’s testament, record label 2L
I tried to attach a video showing the process, but for some strange reason you do not accept mp4 videos(!) However the point is that the line “MQA core decoder” suddenly vanishes before it reappears and then vanishes again and reappears and so on.
This occurs ever time I try to play the albums. To look further into the matter I reverted the 3400 to a firmware version I did a backup of back in February last year. Same problem, it seems, it just took a little longer before the music crashed.
Although the core decoder is “located” inside the 3400, it is not likely the fault is due to something Lyngdorf did, as long as the fault even occurs with an older firmware version, which it never did at the time my system was running with the older firmware version.
No, it does not. I have restored a firmware version from early 2023 to check and the problem occurs even then, which it didn’t back in 2023. I am also in dialogue with 2L about this matter.
