· Helping a client with his system. Original system: Roon Nucleus running Core. Music stored on an Antipodes DX server running as a NAS drive. Upgraded to a new Innuos server which will run Roon Core and have music stored on internal HD. Copied music from Antipodes to Innuos using the Innuos import utility. Backed up Roon database onto a USB stick from Nucleus. Imported Roon database from USB stick into Innuos. Roon spent hours indexing the music library which looks like it imported fine but when a song is selected from a Roon playlist the song is unavailable. However, if I search for the song or navigate to it through Artist/Album, etc. it plays from the library. So playlists got copied over and are visible using the Innuos as Core and any music inside the playlists which is from Tidal plays but if the song is on the internal library it does not play. How do I force Roon to connect the titles in the playlists with what’s on the internal HD?
Thanks for the detailed writeup, that’s genuinely helpful. What’s happening is a storage location mismatch rather than anything wrong with your playlists themselves.
Here’s why it broke: Roon’s playlists reference tracks tied to a specific storage location internally, not just song titles. When you backed up the Nucleus database as-is (with the Antipodes location still active) and restored it onto the Innuos, that database still pointed to the old Antipodes location. Meanwhile, the Innuos import utility set up your copied music as a separate, newly created storage location on its internal drive. Since these ended up as two different locations in the database, even though they hold the same files, your playlists are stuck looking for tracks under the old location instead of the new one, which is why browsing by Artist/Album works (that matches by metadata) but playlists don’t.
To fix it properly, please redo the backup/restore, but in this order:
On the original Nucleus (with the Antipodes still connected), go to Settings > Storage and disable that storage location; don’t delete it, just disable it.
With the location disabled, take a fresh backup of the Roon database.
Restore that backup onto the Innuos.
On the Innuos, edit that same (still disabled) storage location so its path points to wherever your music now lives on the Innuos’s internal drive, then re-enable it.
Let Roon rescan.
Doing it in this order keeps the same underlying storage location the whole time, just redirected to its new physical path, so your playlists reattach correctly instead of Roon treating the Innuos copy as a brand new, unrelated location. Please remove the separate location the Innuos import utility created on its own, once this is done, so there’s no duplicate.

Thanks for the quick reply. This is exactly what I did except I did not disable the storage location when I did the database backup. Is it possible to edit the location on the Innuos without re-doing the database backup? The Nucleus and Antipodes have been physically taken out is the system already and putting them back is more complicated than it sounds due to the rack layout.
Good news on your question: yes, you can do all of this on the Innuos. The Nucleus and Antipodes do not need to come back.
When you restored the database, the old Antipodes storage location came across with it, and it will still be listed under Settings, then Storage, most likely showing as unavailable or disconnected. Editing that existing entry’s path, rather than adding a new location, is what preserves the playlist references. Disabling it before the backup would have been tidier, but it was not a requirement.
One caveat before you try it. This only works if the folder structure below the root is the same on the Innuos as it was on the Antipodes. The Innuos import utility often reorganizes music into its own layout, and if the relative paths beneath the root have changed, Roon will not be able to match the old track references even with the root path corrected.
So, worth trying first:
On the Innuos, go to Settings, then Storage.
Find the old Antipodes location, edit it, and point its path at the folder where your music now lives on the Innuos internal drive.
Let Roon rescan.
If the playlists come back, please remove the separate location the Innuos import utility created, so you are not left with two entries covering the same files.
If the paths do not line up and the playlists still show unavailable tracks, there is a simpler route built for exactly this situation: the Playlist Improver.
Open one of the affected playlists and Roon scans it automatically. If it finds tracks it can fix, an Improve button appears under the playlist title with a count of suggestions. Choose Unavailable Tracks, and Roon will search your library and your connected services for matching recordings and propose replacements. You can review each one, play it before accepting, and then click Save. Since the files are already imported and browsable by Artist and Album, it should find local matches for most of them.

I did a similar thing which worked: Deleted the share that pointed to the Antipodes, disabled the main Music folder on Innuos, mapped a new share to the Music folder on Innuos, Roon re-scanned and mapped all the playlists correctly. Thanks for all your help, system is functioning great now.
