Describe the issue

After latest Roon 2.0.36 update, Raat server won't start because my Avast anti-virus blocks it. The message says: Raatserver.exe is blocked because this file is infected with IDP.Generic.

Describe your network setup

it's an issue with anti-virus picking up IDP.Generic signature. Not sure how network relates. Raat Server is installed on i7-10710U with windows 11 Pro 23H2 connected wired to Deco M9 Plus which connects to parent Deco via wireless mesh network. Threat is blocked by Avast Premium Security.

Avast seems to have a bit of a history for reporting a false positive for this:

You can upload the file to VirusTotal which will scan it with about 80 different scanners, this will give you a better picture:

Thanks, I was not aware of this site. Very interesting, especially the sandbox testing.

I’ve added an exception for Roon and submitted on Report False Positive

A bit annoying I had to get up and RDP into my NUC and check all this to get some music going again.

thanks for this… I recently rebooted for a windows update and then roon stopped working. I assumed it was related to windows, but yet again, it’s avast causing problems. It’s a pretty crappy AV and always causes me headaches. Time to move on from it.
