Hi everyone,

Thank you to those of you who have tested this fix in Early Access. So far, we’re reporting successful loading of the ARC app via the beta track.

Please see @Wade_Oram’s post above for instructions on how to move your Android phone and RoonServer to the Early Access branch to test the fix.

Thank you!

Android App version 1368 showed up this morning on my S24 Ultra (from Play Store) and is working well so far - no crashes when changing albums or switching zones.

I see Roon ROCK SW update and associated details below. I will test now.

What’s new in this release?

Build Numbers

Application Version
Roon / RoonServer 2.0 (build 1368) production
Roon ARC 1.0 (build 232) production

Changes

  • Resolved the Roon Remote app crash on Samsung S24 series phones
  • Resolved a connectivity issue where browsers could end up in an infinite loading state
  • Fixed sort ordering issue in Downloads Browser
  • Resolved an issue where the ARC user could end up on the Profile picker page after the restart
  • Fixed an ARC issue with audio notifications not ducking on Android
  • Fixed an ARC issue causing blank screens after startup
  • Various minor enhancements and improvements

I wanted to add that I also cleared the cache and data from the app. I did see a crash before I did that. I haven’t seen any since. Thanks Roon Devs for the update.

I’m certain that my case is unique. I mean, well, I use my phone for just about everything. So when my music app of choice stopped being of service, it was literally depressing.

Thanks for v. 1368. Some things are easier than others. I know this situation posed difficult challenges, but the Roon crew adapted and prevailed.

I’m back to listening…

I have update remote roon to the latest version, but I still have issues launching the app. After 4 or 5 times the app works. I restarted the phone and cleared the cache and data.

2 posts were merged into an existing topic: Roon Arc no longer opening after latest update

Same here…not much difference as far as I can tell
Phil

I have had about 10 crashes since the update yesterday, typically when launching the app after it has been closed. There would have been 100’s prior. The Devs made great progress but this is seemingly not a complete fix for the S24 Ultra crashes.

Hi for this new update 16 feb, now its working flawless , switch off my ethernet, restart my roon nucleus ,clear cache delete data on my s24U, thanks for roon technical team, bravo

Roon isn’t crashing on my phone anymore. An update was run on my tablet an hour earlier. I wonder if that included a fix.

The bug is “patched” but not fixed. The app keep crashing randomly when I browse. A lot less, but still a lot. At least I can choose music, but not use the app in a normal way. Cleared cache and all the jazz.

On my s24 ultra roon app is still totally unstable. Hangs after switching between apps, crashes at start a few times typically. It’s very annoying.

It looks that after disabling “power saving” function in Galaxy s24 ultra, roon app works much, much better.

Makes no difference to mine, tried that…:slightly_smiling_face:

Samsung s24 ultra, roon keep crashing.
Roon radio doesn’t work (Unexpected Error Limiting Radio to Library).
When play Tidal flac tracks it see AAC format…
What’s going on with roon?

Have you looked at the Tidal settings in Roon settings?

As far as I know, there is no such settings in Roon…
