My Roon search function fails every time I start up Roon
Describe your network setup
I have the Rockna Wavenet streamer which is connected by a wire to my router. The Wavenet is connected to my Rockna Wavedream DAC. My router is on 24/7
Welcome to the forum and thanks for reaching out. Can you please let us know the exact local time + date + search term when you next experience this issue? We will enable diagnostics mode to see if there is any further clues in your logging. Also just to confirm, search works as expected after some time after booting up?
I am experiencing this everyday at startup. The search function does not work at startup. I have to turn off the switch for 10 seconds. When I turn it back on, I get 2 error messages very briefly - Qobuz login failed, Tidal login failed and then the app starts working.
Thanks for sharing those details. We’re seeing intermittent network issues in your logs, which aligns with the symptoms you’ve reported. Roon’s query functionality depends on a stable upstream connection to our servers, so any disruption can cause problems.
As a next step, can you try bypassing your network switch and connecting your server directly to your router? Let us know if that improves performance.
Thank you. I may have found the real issue. Every night I used to turn off my Roon server. Last night I kept it on and this morning I had no issues. I did not take out any of the devices.
It’s possible that your server needs a bit of time to fully establish a stable network connection after each restart. I’d suggest leaving it powered on continuously for a few days to see if the query issues return. If everything stays stable, that points to the startup connection as the likely cause. If the issue does come back, we’ll dig deeper and explore other solutions. Let us know how things go!
