Roon seems to "hang" when adding files

I keep getting “stuck” after about 4000 tracks are imported, the final 10,000 never show up. This is something recent, all the files used to show up but all of a sudden about 10,000 went away and I get the following message

You might describe for them the storage, is it local, a NAS? And has anything changed about the storage location or the Roon Core, like a software update?

Thanks, it’s a local external hard drive, same storage location I’ve used for a long time. Same Roon Core, no software update.

Is it a ROCK NUC, Windows PC, MAC that is running the Core? IF it is a ROCK NUC, have you tried moviing the drive to a Windows or MAC PC and see if that OS can see all the files. i.e. making sure that there is nothing wrong with the external drive.

The media files are my iTunes library, iTunes has no problem loading and playing them.

What is the model of the USB drive? Is it externally powered or powered via USB?

Since experiencing this issue have you tried rebooting the Core machine and disconnecting and reconnecting the drive?

It turns out I had a couple of files that were corrupt and it caused a log jam that didn’t allow Roon to continue reading subsequent files. It got stuck on those files and wouldn’t skip to the other files. Once I removed those files from the search path everything worked normally.
