Roon Server becomes unreachable after upgrade on Mac Mini (ref#V2NIRD)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

Tell us what's going on

· I use a Mac Mini as my Roon server. In general it works wonderfully. Here's the problem. This happens (and has been happening for at least a year) whenever I upgrade Roon Server: The upgrade succeeds. Roon server but is unreachable. I have to login to the Mac and manually kill the Roon processes and then restart the server. Then everything works correctly. Sometimes I logout/login which restarts the server. Sometimes I just reboot and that fixes the problem, too. Depends on how lazy I'm feeling. What this means is that unless I have time to manually supervise the updates my Roon service stops working.

Tell us about your home network

· I have a Google mesh network (the original version). The Mac Mini (MacOS 15.7.3) is connected to the main switch via ethernet. There are many devices on the network. This problem is however localized to the server. Obviously during the update nothing is playing. Not sure what else is relevant. The router is the Google node connected to the cable modem. There are no VPN connections (Google doesn't support VPN).

Hey @Gary_Wasserman,

Thanks for sharing your report! Considering you appear to be running macOS15.7, I believe @Suedkiez is correct in the above statement, as this has popped up in the more recent macOS updates.

We don’t have any additional fixes quite yet - you have our apologies here!
