Describe the issue

Roon server crashes on ubuntu 22.04

Describe your network setup

Roon Server running on NUC11TNHi7 with 16 gb ram on Ubuntu 22.04
Computer is ethernet connected to a Unify Dream Machine.

I run 3 separate Ubuntu Server 22.04 Roon setups (routers: UDM Pro, UCG Ultra, AmpliFi). They never crash. Have you looked at the tail of the Roon log file right before the crash (before restarting Roon, it would be the tail of /var/roon/RoonServer/Logs/RoonServer_log.txt)? Does it show any error messages that might be relevant?

I will check next time if happens again. I saw that I had some ubuntu updates not installed so I did update, I am not so sure the issue was with Roon rather than Ubuntu itself

Check if you have IPv6 enabled.
If yes, disable it.
IPv6 caused Roon to «crash» on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 Server LTS in my case.

IPv6 was on automatic, I disabled it now. Will monitor the results. Thanks.

Hey @Marcor,

Thanks for writing in! Since some time has passed I wanted to check in and see how your server is performing?

We’ll be on standby for your status :+1:

I keep having a system error that I cannot figure out and I don’t know if it is related to the Roon issues. I will give it another try and report if I manage to report something more clear

Hey @Marcor,

Thanks for the update!

Feel free to share a snippet of the error if you’d like!

Certainly keep us posted on how things go :+1:
