Describe the issue

I'm running the Roon server on my Mac along with the Roon application. The Roon server will not restart after I quit it. In the past, it would automatically restart when I opened the main Roon application again. Now, the application itself restarts, but not the server. The only way to get the server to restart is to restart my computer. This issue started happening with the latest update.

Describe your network setup

iMac 3.1 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5, TP-Link Router, Sequoia 15.2

Hi @kd007,

Thank you for posting.

First, double-check that Roon still has local network access in Privacy & Security.

When RoonServer is open and visible in the menu bar on your Mac, what do you see under “Launch at Startup?”

I’d also verify that Roon is a login list item in Settings → General.

Please let us know if this helps.

Hi @connor thanks for the suggestions. I confirmed that Roon still has local network access, that the Launch at Startup? option is still checked, and that Roon is a login list. When I restart my computer, it works fine. The issue seems to be if I need to quit/restart the Roon server for one reason or another. I’m not able to restart it without restarting the entire computer.

Hey @kd007,

Thanks for the update! It may also be worth double-checking your Mac firewall settings - if you temporarily disable your firewall and attempt to reboot your Roon Server, are you successful?

If the issue persists, it would be good to review a fresh set of both Roon and Roon Server logs from the Mac. If you could, please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?

Thank you! :+1:

@benjamin Sorry for the delay, I’ve uploaded the logs.

Hey @kd007,

Thanks for sending those over! While our team takes a closer look, were you able to give my prior comment a test?

We’ve also seen reports of updating to Sequoia 15.3 helping many users with related issues on Mac.

Let me know, thanks! :+1:

Hi @benjamin sorry for the delay in responding. Changing the firewall settings didn’t make a difference, but updating to the latest version of Sequoia appears to have solved the issue. Thank you!
