Describe the issue

I have an Asustor nas AS6602T which I am trying to install Roon Server
I get to the point of it asking me where my database is.
When I click on a directory already created I get "loading" and proceed no further.
I'm afraid I will use up my two week trial period not having setup Roon.

Describe your network setup

My router is a Gl-iNet connected to 500mbs Fibre to the premises.my house is cat5 wired via 2 Zyxel 5 and 8 port switches.
At present I'm using my nas for local library and Qobuz for streaming to my Linn Klimax DS streamer.
I use Minimserver on my nas ,everything works well on my network.

Hi @dennis_mclaughlin,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. The best way to proceed is to review the logs for your Roon server. Can you use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?

Dear Danielle,i have no logs as i cannot get psst the initial stages of installing Roon Server
Server gets installed ok but the next step is where it stops when it asks for a database location.
Anything i have entered leaves me with “loading”
Thats as far as i have got.
I cannot find a step by step explanation of this part…its just assumed that it shouldn’t be a problem.
I had Roon Server working fine on my desktop pc ,but really dont want to run this 24/7.
Hence trying to use my Asustor nas
I am looking for the requisite Intel Nuc listed by Roon online at the moment to bypass this situation.
I have a really good home ethernet system here, and my Linn Klimax DS streamer works well using my home nas music library or via my sub to Qobuz.

Then maybe document here what you’ve entered? You can post screenshots here.

Use the documentation from the project homepage?
According to that documentation, you have to choose from a given list of folders from your NAS.
Sounds like a save bet to me that “its just assumed that it shouldn’t be a problem”. If this is a problem for you, please give more information why that is so/where exactly the problem is for you.

Hi @dennis_mclaughlin ,

I would also second looking over the Asustor install guide:

https://roononnas.org/en/asustor/

The Asustor package was created by a 3rd party developer, so we are unable to comment on specific troubleshooting steps for this device specifically. If you try to install and run Roon a regular laptop, does that work without issue?

I have tried without any success with my nas…

I have purchsed an Intel Nuc device and will go down this route, hopefully with more success!.

Kind thanks for Roon’s assistance

I’ve only lost a werks worth of my Roon Trial period.

Dennis

Hi @dennis_mclaughlin,

We’ve set you up with an additional trial period to give it a proper shot. :slightly_smiling_face:

Best of luck!
