Describe the issue
Using Roon & nucleus& Qobuz since 2022 with pleasure I am experiencing since one week a roon server latency and Qobuz media loading slowly - network is fine
Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! We were able to review a fresh Roon Server diagnostic report from your Nucleus, and can report the following:
The good news first: your network, your library, and Qobuz all look healthy. Your library is stable, there are no Qobuz errors, and the various connectivity messages in the log are just normal background chatter, not the cause of your slowness.
What the logs do show is a steady build-up of memory use on your Nucleus One over roughly the last 10 days, exactly matching when this started for you. As that memory climbs, your Roon Server spends more and more time pausing to clean up, and those pauses have grown from under 1.5 seconds to nearly 4 seconds. Those freezes are what you’re feeling as “the app takes a long time to respond to commands.” Because it’s happening on the server itself, it shows up on every remote and comes back after a reboot (the memory just starts climbing again from a lower point).
To confirm, have you fully rebooted your Roon Server via the webUI of your Nucleus already? And if so, does performance still lag after the reboot?
As a first fix, please take a fresh backup of your database (Settings → Backups), then reinstall the Roon Server software on the Nucleus from the Nucleus Web UI. This keeps your library and settings intact but gives the software a clean start, which often clears this kind of memory build-up. If you have a backup from before the issue began, restoring that is also a good option.
If the slowness returns afterward, let us know, and if you can, note roughly how long after a reboot it comes back. That timing helps us confirm what’s going on.
I’m confident the issues you’re experiencing are actually addressed and potentially fixed in our latest Early Release version of Roon, and will likely be released to our full Production soon.
