Roon server not connecting

I also just started having this problem after years of using Roon on this laptop. I tried uninstalling Roon and reinstalling it on my laptop, but that didn’t help. I also tried restarting the Roon server. I’m using Windows 10 Enterprise and connected using WiFi. My server is Roon ROCK running on an Intel NUC. I’m using my work laptop, so maybe my employer changed some setting or restricted access?

Hi there,

I’ve split your report to its own topic …

To receive appropriate help, it would be really helpful if you could complete the template provided below.

You can copy and paste it into your reply.

Please be sure to include details of your server, network, storage location of your media files, and any messages displayed by Roon.

Including these details in your first post helps resolve your issues faster.

Thank you.

Hi @Edward_Kohl ,

Are you able to connect to your ROCK Server from other Roon Remotes other than the laptop? Does an iOS or Android device work, for example? Since you are using a Windows PC, I would verify that both Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceptions to your Windows firewall.

You can use these instructions to add the exceptions and the executables themselves would be located in your Database Location/Application folder path.

I would also add these exceptions to any Antivirus or other Firewall blocking applications you may have and ensure that you connected to your network via a Private network, not a Public one, see this guide for more information.
