The very strange is that even with Roon Server switched off, I get the same error from Roon ARC.
I reinstalled the application in my iPhone but nothing changed. The same message again even with Roon Server switched off !

Important info is that tonight I got also in Roon Server the message “There was an error checking for an update”. I had no problem using the Roon in my network in any case.

Same for me since today, I’m in Canada and this is not a new installation

I installed Roon for the first time today on MacOS and I experience the same issue. RoonARC does not want to connect because server is not up to date. On my Mac on the server I also get “There was an error checking for an update”

Same for me on ROCK. In the log I see a message that the Roon API server is not reachable. Looks to me either a network/server issue at Roon or a certificate issue as the api connects to 443 https.

Is the same problem when trying to install a new ROCK unit, boot and install from USB (version 258) works fine, and boots up just fine after installation is done, but then when it is trying to update to 271/1496 you have the same problem with reaching the update server.

Hi,

Im running Roon Server on a NUC and suddenly the check for updates feature fails.
I also get an error when trying to reinstall the OS: There was an error downloading Roon. Please check your internet connection. {“status”:“Failure”,“exitcode”:11}

Roon works fine regarding playback etc.

Pls advice and thx in advance.

Hi,
I have the same problem with my Nucleus One.
I’ve tried everything but so far to no avail.
Welcome to the club;-)

I think this must be affecting all new installs. Same here with a new bare metal Linux Roon Server.

Installs and works with Roon app, but can’t check for updates through the ‘about’ menu, or when trying to open Roon Arc.

Also existing installs.

It’s affecting my Roon 1496 install. Server on DietPi, Client on Windows 11 - both indicate can’t update (I know that, at this time there is no update available anyway so it is not bothering me at present).

I’m pretty sure (but not, unfortunately, 100% certain) that this was not the case a couple of weeks ago with the same installation.

Hi all,
I just unboxed my Nucleus One and included it in the network (ethernet). After backing up from the former Roon server (ran on iMac) to Nucleus One I started the updating process and am not successful. I get error messages both on Roon OS (WebUI) and on Roon Server (Remote App). All accessed via iPad and on Mac.

What am I doing wrong? I restarted, rebooted, reset the database, started all over, started with a non-backuped Core. Doesn‘t seem to work.

Thanks and best,
Constantin

Same here except reinstalling ARC didn’t help. Reinstalling Roon server didn’t help either. Nothing has changed with my NAS. Checked all the port forwarding with router and firewall.

Folks, I’ve flagged this with @support. I suspect there’s a cloud service issue here…

I think there are roon network errors (outside of our personal network).

“Error checking for update” on NAS based Roon as well. I’m hoping in will be resolved. Running build 1496.

Same here on Synology NAS and Win11 client

Der gleiche Fehler auch bei mir…mac Mini M2

I wonder if people who are using the Nucleus are having issues.

At some point, I wonder if Roon will become less responsive for self installs in favor of their own server options.

I’m probably being overly paranoid, this likely is just a server glitch. My ARC worked well on my devices that were signed in prior to this glitch. After signing out of them (for troubleshooting issues), I can’t log back in. But prior to my messing around, ARC was working fine.
