Description of Issue

Files are getting skipped. I think it is reading the files as partially downloaded, and marking them as corrupt, but not updating the files as good once the download is completed. There seems to be no way of forcing a re-scan of skipped files, and although Roon claims to be monitoring the folder for changes, that obviously is not working properly.

Forcing a re-scan does not help.

I’d recommend to disable your music folder while copying new files to it, in order to avoid such problems in the future.

For now, delete those files, clean library and retry as recommended.

For the troublesome files it might be worthwhile moving them out of your music folder, rescanning your library and cleaning it up, then copying the files back.
It would make sense, in future, to download to a different destination then to copy the completed files to your music folder.

Use a working folder on an AV protected HDD

Once fully downloaded then copy to your Roon Watched folder. It also means that anything going to the Roon Folder is AV checked so your Roon folder can be excluded from AV which helps as its not checked every time its read

Alsogives you the opportunity to groom Metadata before adding to Roon. Been doing this for years simply because some AV , Defender for eg , plays havoc with HR playback by analysing on playback
