Description Of Issues

Every time after startup Roon has trouble playing tracks from Exasound 32 Asio Zone. It will say No Audio Zone selected. After several intents (sometimes 5 or 6, other times 10 or 20 or more) it will play, and afterwards no problem, until next time Roon is started or audio zone is switched, once back to Exasound 32 Asio problem presents again. This problem does not presents with other audio zones (HQP, Core Audio, etc).

Hi @Alberto_Raven,

Welcome to the forum! Have you tried a different USB cable for the Core -> Exasound connection?
If you haven’t yet, I would give that a try.

Thanks. I tried that, and also switching USB port in the Mac Mini, but same results.
I forgot to tell you that this problem appeared around 12 months after I started using Roon, during the first 12 months it worked perfectly.

Hi @Alberto_Raven,

Thanks for giving that a try. Are you using the latest firmware for your Exasound DAC? I also wonder if perhaps RAATServer got into a weird state, we can try resetting RAATServer to see if it’ll help.

You can generate a new RAATServer instance on your device by following these instructions, but please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings -> Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have first:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder

Can you give that a try?
