Hi
I have a lifetime subs to Roon.
Just returned from 10 days away - Roon on my iPad bombs out, Roon on PC bombs out, Roon on my iPhone bombs out.
My Roon Nucleus + is on and appears to be running - I can see it & access files on my network.
Clicking on App - just reverts to the windows screen - or iPad main screen.
Have downloaded Roon again & installed - no change on my PC
What is going on ?
RThanks
Bob
Go to the admin web page of your Nucleus+ and check if it is up to date. Open your internet browser and try http://nucleusplus or if this does not work try http://nucleusplus.local. If this does not work either, use the IP address of the Nucleus+ instead of “nucleusplus” (which you should find in the admin web page of your router where the network devices are listed)
The Roon Server Software version should be Version 2.0 build 1223 production. If it is lower, you may be a victim of this recent quite frequent issue:
Current releases of control devices / remotes crash when the Core is not up do date. Maybe your Nucleus+ did not update for a while but your remotes probably have. (This has happened recently for some Nucleuses without user fault). If all your remotes crash then you can’t initiate the update from the remote but you can trigger the update by going to the admin web page and clicking the Reinstall button for the Operating System:
(From the Updating Nucleus help page)
This will also trigger the update of the Roon Server version. This is riskless and has helped in countless recent cases
I already alerted Roon to this and they are investigating a solution
Thank you so much -
I can’t understand why Roon does not email saying “Update Needed”
Meanwhile - updated =- but operating system still saying v1.0 (build 254) - although the software is now V2.0 (build 1223)
SYstem seems to be working OK now though.
Really appreciate your swift reply - quite amazed !
Thank you again
The operating system is fine at 254, it’s the base OS at version 1.0, this is the latest.
The Roon Server is the important bit and is now fine as well.
Glad it helped
I have this response saved in a text file because this is unfortunately a common issue right now and I am posting this all the time. Hoping that Roon can fix this soon ![]()
