Description of Issue

Naim Muso 2 & Pi are detected and available in Settings->Audio, and work fine when those (networked) zones are selected in Roon. But my Chord TT2 DAC connected to my PC core via USB is no longer detected in Roon. The PC detects the DAC as its default audio output, & it works fine in JRiver & Chrome (YouTube).
Roon & the DAC have worked perfectly together for years but I have been overseas for a week and Roon has not recognised the DAC on my return. I have reset the PC & the DAC several times.
ARC did fail after a few days of being away (“Core not seen for n days”) so maybe my Core went down?

So I see the Mu-So is Roon ready and I presume it’s running as a Roon bridge. What does the Pi do? Is it running Ropieee or something else? Can you connect the TT2 to the Pi and see if it plays? If it does that would suggest there’s something amiss with your PC setup.

Thanks. Yes, I have a Mu-so and a few Pis running Ropieee in other parts of the house but not in my main system. I’m not sure if I can connect the TT2 to a Pi without drivers, etc. I’d have to move a Pi into the main system, which isn’t ideal.

The PC and TT2 work well together with JRiver and all other software. It’s only Roon running on the PC that can no longer detect the TT2, not the PC itself.

I’ve tried different USB cables but obviously it doesn’t change anything.

I have a Qutest at work. I’ll try connecting that in place of the TT2. I might also try my Mojo 2.

The Chord TT2 is definitely on the “Roon Tested” list, which appears to mean it’s compatible with Roon over USB. And it always used to be detected and work.

I’ve just updated to build 1303 but still no joy.

I’m glad that I have JRiver to fall back on but I’d prefer to get Roon working with my DAC again.

Just noticed that the “Scan for new devices” icon in Settings->Audio is no longer available either. Has that been removed in a recent build?

There should be several little circular arrows that are the “Scan for new devices” icon. The TT2 should not require special drivers to work with Roon and Ropieee. I’ve got a Qutest connected to a Pi no problems.

Thanks, @David_Gibson.

So, yes, I no longer have a circular arrow to allow “Scan for devices”

I’ve just done a full reset of everything including DAC, PC and changed USB cables and ports. No change.

DAC is working with PC system output, JRiver, Qobuz desktop app & Spotify. Roon still won’t detect it.

I’ll go look for my Mojo2 & Poly…

Chord Poly is detected over WiFi.

Chord Mojo 2 (and TT2) are not detected over USB.

Looks like a Roon/USB issue. Tomorrow I will try Chord Qutest via USB. I don’t have any other USB devices.

I will also try USB DAC via Pi/Ropieee. Do I have to setup Ropieee differently to use a USB DAC rather than a HAT?

Fixed only by format SSD + full reinstall of W10 & Roon. Sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Thank you to @David_Gibson for moral support.

Pity there were no suggestions, help or even comment from Roon. Maybe that’s the price one pays for buying a lifetime licence rather than paying monthly? (Lack of) Support by forum seems a bit of a cop out. Wouldn’t work in my business.

Ah well, I have music again - yay!
