Thanks @benjamin! I will follow those steps and report back.
Hi @benjamin, I completed the steps you shared. Created a backup, then started with a fresh database. This time I didn’t sync any local files, just logged in to Tidal. Here’s the situation now:
-
Roon keeps saying it’s syncing Tidal:
-
Albums counter stopped at 660 (should be around 2.6K)
-
Tidal favs in Tidal app still != Tidal favs in Roon. See sorted by latest additions (Roon vs. Tidal):
-
When trying to delete a Tidal album using Roon:
(it is currently in my Tidal favs and I can unfavorite it using Tidal desktop without issues). -
Finally, the icons in the DSP page did not come back:
To sum up, all that was broken remains broken. Looking forward to your assistance.
Thanks for the update. Do you by any chance have another PC around the house which you can use to temporarily host the Roon Core on? It would be interesting to note if this behavior occurs on the different PC, as it would provide a valuable data point.
With that, I noticed you haven’t provided any specific system or network setup - which would be helpful at this point. Please fill out the below info:
Networking Gear & Setup Details
Your network gear (model of routers/switches) and if on WiFi/Ethernet
If you haven’t yet, I would also test out enabling IGMP within your firewall settings as another test. What are your current DNS settings?
Thanks!
Thanks for coming back to me @benjamin! I didn’t provide system details because I made no changes to the hardware in at least 2 years. The issues started after one of the Roon updates this year.
I’ll gather all this and post it here.
The router is an Arris TG3492LG provided by my ISP (see manual)
I connect via WiFi 5 using a TP-Link Archer T9UH V2 adapter. This is plugged to a USB 3.0 port of my Samsung RF711 (Core i7-2630QM, upgraded to 8GB DDR3 and WDS500G2B0A SATA drive).
As said, there have been no changes to this setup since I first installed Roon. There are no connectivity issues in other apps.
How do I go about this? I only use the built-in Windows 10 firewall, Roon is already added to exceptions, I never modified any other settings.

My apologies here - I was referring to your router settings. I would also try to connect the core directly to the Arris router.
With that, have you tested out changing your DNS settings to Google (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflair (1.1.1.1)?
Thanks!

I was referring to your router settings.
Logged in to the admin panel, went through all pages, but there is no setting mentioning IGMP. The router manual doesn’t mention it either. So I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do here. In the router firewall section, I only see stuff like IP filtering and port forwarding (no rules defined there, nothing’s blocked or custom-routed).

With that, have you tested out changing your DNS settings to Google (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflair (1.1.1.1)?
DNS changed:
Favs still out of sync. This is in my TIDAL library (added months ago):
Not found in Roon:
As a next step, let’s refresh your Tidal Cache. Steps to follow below:
- Exit out of Roon
- Find and open your Roon database
- Navigate to
Roon/Cache
- Move the contents of the
/Cache
folder elsewhere, like your desktop - Try restarting Roon and verify if the issue still occurs
If the issue still exists, we’ll need a set of fresh Roon logs. Please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader.
Have you tried out hardwiring your core directly to your router yet? That would be a good thing to test out as well.

Yes, tried that, not much improvement. Moved the core a to a PC that’s connected via LAN, left in online for ~10 hours. Roon managed to sync 823 albums and the counter stopped:
Trying to remove an album that was in my Tidal favs at that moment would still produce the ‘File not found’ errors:
The cache refresh didn’t help either, the sync is still spotty. See latest additions side by side, notice how Roon misses the ones I circled in red:

Uploaded just now.
Thanks for sending those over! Our team was able to take a closer look into things, and would like to know the results of the following tests:
- If possible, run a disk check on your core device to confirm the health of your PC.
- If possible, set up your core on a different device outside of both your PCs.
- See if the issue persists while on a different network.
We’re seeing a fair amount of network connectivity errors that seem to be directly related to your Tidal favorites, so it’d be interesting to see how things function on a separate network.
I realize these are tedious asks, and I’m sorry we’re not able to pin down what the core of the issue is quite yet. In this case, logs are unfortunately not providing the detail needed, and so ruling out some of the above requests would go a long way in understanding the issue.
Thanks again
Just checking in on this thread, and if you were able to test out the above?
I’ll be on standby for your reply.

If possible, run a disk check on your core device to confirm the health of your PC.
Will do and report back.

If possible, set up your core on a different device outside of both your PCs.
You mean a 3rd PC in the same network? That’s not feasible at the moment.

See if the issue persists while on a different network.
The only option I currently have is connecting via the Wi-Fi hotspot of my phone. Will let you know the result.
I also disabled IPv6 in my WiFi adapter settings (been getting ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED a lot in MS Edge lately). It helped with the browser, but Roon behaves the same (Tidal favorites remain out of sync).

@benjamin I think it did the trick! I connected using my phone’s ‘network sharing’ feature and the TIDAL library was synced in Roon. What’s even more interesting, I went back to my home WiFi, and it has stayed in sync! I can also remove stuff from favs with no errors! Let me test for a few more days pls, but it’s looking good.
Only thing that didn’t start working are the DSP icons:
You have my extreme apologies for the long delay in responding to your last comment. I’m glad to hear you’ve since been able to sync your Tidal collection properly!
Are you still experiencing issues with Muse icons? Does this happen no matter the remote device?
Thanks
Hi Ben, no worries, I haven’t had much time keep track either.
First of all, unfortunately, that library sync is still spotty:( Switching between networks (from home WiFi to mobile hotspot and back) seems to trigger a successful update, but when I stay on the same network next time I launch Roon, the issue returns… I’m out of ideas tbh.
Wrt icons, let me check on my other PC and report back.
Ah! Thats no good, I’m sorry to hear the issue hasn’t dissipated yet.
A curious thought when reviewing your account page - I’m seeing two different subnets within your local IP, your current device with 192.168.43.
and an older remote device with 192.168.0.
- are you able to review your network settings and see if this is the case?
If there is more than one subnet, can you double-check that all your Roon devices fall within the same subnet?
