Roon Stops Responding Past Logo Screen

Hi, I recently installed Roon Core on my Windows 10 Pro 64x computer. I noticed that after I close the application for the first time, it will always show “Not Responding” when it gets past the logo and quote screen whenever I open it. I’ve already tried reinstalling it twice. Something to note is that both times I closed the application before the full library is indexed as shown in the Setting >> Library tab. Not sure if that was the problem. My library’s not small (close to 1TB along with a few dozen Tidal albums) so I don’t want to have to reload the library again. Do you know what might be the problem? My computer is connected to a Hugo 2 DAC. It has an Intel i7 8th Gen processor, GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, and my library is all on an external HDD hard drive.

Thank you.

You really need to let it finish indexing or you aren’t going to be able to tell what is happening.

Yea I sort of guessed. But the second time the computer restarted automatically overnight for an update…

Alright I guess I will try to reload and index the library again this weekend. But I got to say, if that is really the issue, then it’s a really poor design with the program. Hope they will fix it.

Hi @Tony_Xiao,

Apologies for the trouble here. Do you know about how many tracks you have in your library?

If you notice this behavior occur again, I was hoping for now you could use the directions found here and send us over a set of logs using a shared Dropbox link. We will need the logs for the Core machine.

Thanks!

Hi dylan,

Thanks for the reply. The library shows a little more than 5000 tracks. It’s been working so far since I reloaded the library. Just in case it happens again, I should get the logs and share it with you after the app crashes?

Hi @Tony_Xiao,

Glad to hear that things are working so far. Yes, if it crashes send me the logs after that and we can take a look.

Thanks!
