@Andy_Luu Are you sure Roon stops then the Hugo2 turns off, could it be the Hugo2 turning off that stops Roon?
I have a Hugo2 and recently had to replace the batteries, the symptom was the Hugo2 turned on but then shutdown, this occurred on battery or if it was plugged in to the charger.
Do you have a 2go connected to the Hugo2?
I have a Hugo 2.
I can’t think of any reason or mechanism by which Roon would be shutting down Hugo 2.
What’s likely happening is one of three things:
The batteries are worn out.
Even when plugged into a charger the Hugo 2 is known to power off if the batteries are worn out.
If you’re not charging it while using it’s also possible it’s just running out of charge.
The charger or charging cable you are using is not capable of at least 1 Amp output.
I was using a third party charger and had problems.
It turned out the charging cable was not providing the power it was rated for.
It’s overheating.
Hugo 2 has thermal protection which will cause it to power off if it gets too hot.
This is more likely to happen if the device is being used while it is charging and you’re feeding it high resolution files.
Mine would power off occasionally if using it while charging on hot weather days.
I solved this by placing it in a stand designed for tablets. This allowed better air circulation around the device.
2nd the suggestion to try something around the house first.
Or just try keeping it upright on its edge although it’s not very stable that way.
They only tend to run hot if charging during use.
You could also just try using it on batteries for a while.
Or leave it charging for 24 hours and it will go into desktop mode. It will still run warmer in desktop mode than on battery power but not as warm as if it’s charging during use.
I found some a box to prop the hugo up so there is a bit more air circulation under the bottom of the unit. It is definitely helping with the heat issue, but is not getting as hot as before.
