Hey @AlexD,
Thanks for writing in and sharing your report!
Usually, a reboot of your Roon Server will fix any hangups around analysis getting stuck. Please give your Windows 10 a reboot and let me know how things look!
Outside of that, we were able to review a fresh diagnostic report around analysis on your Roon Server, and saw some errors in relation to the below content:
Track Unknown Artist - feb25 - Boris Blank - Reconance - 2024 - Boris Blank - Reconance
It may help to remove this album from your watched folders, and see if helps clear things up.
We’ll be on standby for your results!
Hi benjamin, thanks for your prompt reply. rebooting doesn’t help. i did reboot many times in these last 2 weeks. i now removed that album fron watched folders. issue is still there.
Hi Benjamin, nothing has actually changed. Can you please advise on how to prevent the countinuous scanning until you solve the problem? is there anything else i can do?
and sorry if I ask, i am new to Roon. Helpdesk is this-one here in the community? or ther is an actual helpdesk i can contact directly?
many thanks!
Hi @AlexD,
Thanks for the update on what’s going on. The track unknown log trace that @benjamin shared in his comment is no longer appearing in your logs. So we will bring this case to our developers to look into this further.
If you go to Roon settings → Library and set “Background audio analysis speed” to off that should stop the continuous scanning. Let us known if it works.
Yes this is the correct place for support we don’t have any other channels to contact support.
Hi Daniel, ok many thanks. i will shut it down for now.
Alessandro
Hi @AlexD,
Did turning off background analysis stop the continuous scanning?
hello Daniel, yes it appears that roon stopped scanning. But in the meantime, being frustrated, yday i basically deleted all the watched paths contributing at library creation by roon, soon after i re-inserted them all again, and left roon scanning again to rebuild the library. continuos scanning appears now to be ended. do you think continuous scanning was due to background analysis or files scanning to build the library?

Hey @AlexD,
Glad to hear you were able to get things sorted out! It’s difficult to pinpoint what the issue was without having a copy of a diagnostic report from the time of the failure.
None the less, certainly let us know if you run into any issues down the road!
