Describe the issue

ROON cannot connect to my Nucleus core. I have rebooted everything including my internet modem several times. Under the Nucleus System Status I reinstalled the Operating System, Restarted the ROON Server Software, all said OK. But ROON still says it is waiting for your ROON Server……

Describe your network setup

Switch is Netgear 5 port Gigabyte Ethernet (GS205) internet is xfinity (Comcast) xFi gateway 500 mbps

Hey @Robert_Barry,

Sorry to hear you’re having issues connecting to your Nucleus!

As a next step, could you temporarily simplify your network and get your Nucleus hardwired directly to your router bypassing all network gear?

I’d also confirm that your Roon devices are all running on the same local subnet within your network. You can usually confirm this by reviewing your devices within your network/router settings. :+1:

We’ll be on standby for your reply. Thanks!

Connected directly to xfinity modem and all are connected to the same network

Hi @Robert_Barry,

Do you see an IP for your Nucleus when reviewing your router settings? We were able to pull a diagnostic report for your Nucleus, but didn’t see any signs of hardware related issues. This points to a potential network inconsistency.

What model modem are you using? Do you know if it’s a modem router combo?

Could you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing specifically?

Thanks!

Benjamin I really appreciate your help. Let me know if you can open these images. One is my xfinity internet modem and the other is a screenshot of what ROON says when I try to open it

IP address is: 10.0.0.45

This is a screenshot of the Nucleus page that comes up when I type the IP address in my browser

Um - what happens if you click that “Select a different Roon Server” in Roon?

Your Nucleus appears to be up and running, but maybe your Roon Remote (which appears to be running on a tablet?) has been connected to a different Roon Server in the past.

If that doesn’t help, I would check to make sure that the tablet is in the same IP subnet as your Nucleus.

Thank you for your support.
I selected select a different server and it is working. Have any idea why this would happen? Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again?
