Hi @Mario_Allaire,

Windows updates tend to restore security permissions to default. I’d first verify that RoonServer.exe and other Roon-related processes are safelisted in the Windows Defender firewall.

Diagnostics indicate that there are multiple server instances overlapping on this same machine. Do you have a reliable Roon Backup available? If so, the easiest way to resolve would be to reset the database:

  • Exit out of RoonServer
  • Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Reinstall the RoonServer App from our Downloads Page to generate a new RoonServer folder
  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database

Next, verify that the new RoonServer is safelisted in the Windows Defender firewall again, and then restore your Backup after launching Roon.

Thanks Connor, let’s say i dont have a Back up, what should i do, I ’ m loosing hope,

Hi @Mario_Allaire,

Please share a screenshot of the error message you’re encountering when you attempt to open Roon and connect to your server.

*Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location and check if you have multiple overlapping instances of your RoonServer folder.

You can also launch Task Manager and see if RoonServer is already running in the background on this machine.

Did you verify Windows Defender permissions have Roon’s processes safelisted per the last comment? Thanks!

Hi Connor, this is a screen shot:

I did check the firewall,
It is a run around,if i go back ,it ask to identify, search a wile and go back to this page,

Hello @Mario_Allaire ,

Please go ahead and click the Unauthorize button (Desactivar). You can switch Roon Servers as often as you’d like but you can only have one active at a time. Let us know if this helps!

Thank you, I did exactly what you propose, and it Work, sudenly everythig was back as it was, that give me time to make a Back up file, that was yesterday, today i’ m back a square one , nothing is hapenig, Keep on searching, I ’ hopeful .

Hi @Mario_Allaire,
It looks like you’ve started another server on a Mac Mini. Is that server discoverable?

Hi Daniel, there’s no Mac Mini in my Home, Roon working on my Laptop as core, under window 11, but it is better but very unstable .Thank tou for your concern.

Hi @Mario_Allaire ,

Can you please share some more specifics on what issues you are facing on the PC? We’ve also activated diagnostics for your account so next time Roon is online we can look to see if there are any errors.
