Describe the issue
Roon plays local files without issue in all formats. It will not play any Tidal music. It only plays noise and skips to the next song in line until there are no more to play.
Describe your network setup
Ethernet connected Meridian MC200 and ethernet connected Rock on a Nuc7
As a first step, have you logged out of Tidal, safely stopped Roon Server from running, and rebooted both your server machine and router? Try this as a first step.
Afterward, bring everything back online and log back into Tidal.
Do you have any VPNs or additional third-party security active on your server machine?
Can you provide more detail around what steps you took when testing the above firewall?
Lastly, if you attempt to playback audio from the system output of your Macbook air, does the same issue occur?
Found the solution. Roon and all equipment were fine.
Tidal had shuffled my streaming quality down to 96kbps when I added a new credit card for billing. I guess my Meridian stuff does not recognize that low of an AAC/MP3 bitrate.
Putting Tidal back to Max streaming quality instantly corrected the problem.
Thanks all for the help and suggestions. I did them all to narrow the problem down and that pointed me to Tidal as the only thing I had touched at all in the last week.
