Roon Update 1.5 to 1.6

I try repeatedly to update Roon 1.5 to 1.6 and get the following error message after downloading 50%: There was an error checking for an update. Update then stops.

Roon Core on MacBookPro 2013 running Mojave 10.14.2, 16Gb Memory, SSD 68Gb free, Music stored on multiple drives.

You could try to download the package from roonlabs.com and install it the “classical way”.

Have you tried restarting your Core, or restarting your Mac?

I tried. It overwrites the 1.5 but when I start up Roon it is still 1.5?? Are we not still downlowding 1.5 from the website?

I restarted the Mac, no change, still 1.5 running. Tried to update to 1.6 but update fails at about 50%.

Hello @Herman_Spies,

Let’s try something different here:

Make a Backup of your current Roon Database
Exit out of Roon
Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location: https://kb.roonlabs.com/Database_Location
Find the folder that says “Roon”
Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
Resinstall Roon using the link to our website downloader: http://download.roonlabs.com/builds/Roon.dmg
Restore the backup from step #1

I would also confirm that Roon is listed as an exception in your Antivirus/OSX Firewall using these instructions:
