Description of Issue

I want to utilise an older Mac book pro to run Roon Core, Apple will not allow updates past OSX Yosemite 10.10.5. and Roon app will not load on this version of MAC OS. Is there a Roon app version available that will?

No, Roon only works with Catalina (10.15) or later, which includes most Macs from the last ten years.

However, some users have successfully updated macOS on older Macs using Open Core Legacy Patcher. There are quite a few related posts in the forum…

I have updated my Macbook Pro 8,1 (from 2011) with macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra) to macOS 11.7 (Big Sur) with the Open Core Legacy Patcher Now Roon 2.0 is running as an endpoint on it.
