Describe the issue

Roon (client) on Windows 11 crashes when using darkmode and no longer opens. Reinstalling (deleting database) is necessary to be able to open it again. Happens regularly sometimes immediately when enabling darkmode but very VERY easy to force it happening by just resizing the window a bunch until it crashes.

This is an error from event viewer that is maybe relevant.

Describe your network setup

Running roon server on debian 12 on proxmox. Don´t think networking is relevant for this issue. Will provide more detail if necessary. It works perfectly fine on my macbook or mobile device. Just the Windows client needs constant reinstalling when enabling darkmode.

Hi @maximal,
Thanks for writing in to ask us about this issue. I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.

However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.

First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.

Seems to have fixed itself. Works for now. Will take note of the time when it happens again.

I did update Windows to 24H2 in the meantime maybe that made a difference.

Hi @maximal,

Thank you for your update. Our QA team is prepared to attempt any reproduction steps you might have, so please let us know if the issue returns in the future.

This thread will autoclose after several days, but please create a new one if you have a new report of the problem and we’ll merge with this case.
