Roon won't start. New installation

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

Fresh install Windows 10/64 Pro Ver 1809
Fresh download install of Roon 64
Intel Core i7 970 @3.20 GHZ
24 GB ram
Nvidia Quadro K2200 Driver 353.3

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Access to internet via cat 5. Operating.
Network card on motherboard.
Windows 10 firewall with Roon exception activated.

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

Description Of Issue

Roon seemed to install okay. Won’t start. Wont start in admin mode.

  1. Are you using Roon or RoonServer. If RoonServer then that has no graphical interface and will only show an indicator on the taskbar notification section that it is running.

  2. If it is the Roon then are you getting an error message or something in the Windows log file?

In addition to Rugby’s suggestions, I have a few others:

Are you by any chance running other antivirus/firewall software on that machine? If you are I would make sure that Roon is added as exceptions there as well.

Does Roon work as expected when you try running it in regular mode (not admin)?

I was running Roon. Roon Server had the same result.
I’m thinking this is a borked Windows installation, as I am seeing some other windows related issues. A “repair” re-installation did not fix, so I am going to do a completely new Windows installation and try again.

Yep. Windows it was. Roon up and running and sucking in music
