Roon won't start up

Description Of Issue
Since Saturday afternoon 2-November
HP laptop PC - Clicking on Roon icon on taskbar or home page, I get “welcome quote” for about 1 sec, then nothing.
iPhone - [rarely use] - Remote Connection/Waiting for Roon Core/Roon is still trying to connect, but it’s taking longer than usual, etc

I have restarted Arris WiFi, sonicTransporter, MicroRendu, and Roon software on both sonicTransporter and microRendu. Twice over last 3 days.

Was there any change in your setup around the time this started? Were there any updates to anything?

If you temporarily disable the firewall on your HP is there any change?

I disabled the firewall but no change. There was an update to the ESET Internet Security recently. I don’t know if it was the same date as problem occurred. Trying to look that up.

Does Roon completely close here, or is it just a blank screen? If Roon is still open, can you share a screenshot of how things look?

I now have it working on my iphone. So it must be a change in the PC, as you said. Was out all day today. Will look at the ESET security software again tomorrow.

Definitely take a look at the ESET security software and try disabling and firewall or antivirus temporarily. If that doesn’t yield any changes, I’m hoping you can do the following:

  • Reproduce the crash 3 times and make a note of the time each crash occurs
  • Use the directions found here and send us over a set of logs using a shared Dropbox link. We will need logs from the Windows device specifically.
  • Respond with a link to the logs as well as the timestamps for the crashes

Multiple attempts this morning after toggling antivirus, firewall, antispam, etc. Then logged three unsuccessful attempts at 10:56, 10:58, and 11:02.

I look a look at the logs with the team this morning and we are hoping you can try completely reinstalling Roon on the Windows device and let us know if that yields any changes.
