RoonBridge -> Apple Intel support deprecating

Just updated my MacBook to Tahoe 26.5, and got notice from my system settings that RoonBridge is still intel based. Therefore it’s support will be deprecated with the next update.

Is this something that’s taken into account by the Roon team?
Has anyone else seen this similarly?
Did anyone try to find a solution pre-emptively yet?

I think the same applies to Bridge as to Roon/Server on the Mac: Native support has been available since September 2022, and they are „universal“ binaries, meaning they have native code for both Apple Silicon and Intel.

Check if you have „Rosetta“ enabled in the Get Info box of Bridge, similar to this:

I’m seeing that option for Roon itself, but not for RoonBridge.

That’s rather weird. Is there a different build available that has this included?

The announcement back then listed Bridge as one of the updated programs, so this is surprising to me. What’s your Bridge version?

Not seeing a version number, I’ll have a check on the site to see if there’s a difference between what I run and what’s there.

Just had a check; fresh install, same modified date, no version number and running intel in my activity monitor.

Seeing it on my installed variants within Roon.

v2.60 (build 1501).

Should be the latest verison.

Hmmm no idea then. @mjw any clue?

Roon GUI/Server is definately of type Universal, meaning it has both Intel and Apple Silicon binaries. Since Bridge is also running .NET now, it should be the same, but I can’t confirm this as I no longer have an Apple device.

@Synthex, I suggest you open a technical support request, so Roon may look into this. Either few use Bridge on macOS, which is why we’ve not seen other reports, or this isn’t a widespread issue.

Thanks, I’ll open one later today

I’m closing this topic as a support request has been submitted …
