On my list now
Best DrCWO
Mine arrive today. Ordered on October 3rd. 29 days.
One more feature request for a future version: access Bookmarks, in the same manner as Playlists?
Did you buy the Nuimo and have it in service? Thank you. Hope you are doing well.
No I did not ever get around to it.
And yes thank you, we are all doing very well here.
Having trouble keeping the Nuimo connected after it sits in sleep for a day or two. I just get the flashing bluetooth symbol, but no connection. I’ve tried the RPi4 both on wifi (same room as the Nuimo) and wired to the router (next room from the Nuimo), and it’s happening both ways. Anyone have any advice?
PS: I’m assuming that the RPi defaults over to wired Ethernet when you connect Ethernet cable? I didn’t see any method for turning off WiFi in the rooExtend config panel.
Same issue here, though if I reboot both and all is good again. The Doctor is putting new features into the next version to keep it awake
Overall it’s great device and service and I have bought another, which is now on the way.
You can rest it from the web page and just set it up again. The WiFi will be gone then
Hi I have an issue with bluetooth.
When it is not playing music I see that:
Then
Then it starts again
And again
It continues like that for a while and stop…
And the raspeberry pi 4 is not so far (in the white furniture top right corner)
I bought one of the TP Link BT dongles and it is much more reliable than before. Just have to reboot the Pi and Nuimo once a week or so.
Is it plug and play ?
Yes it worked right away
It’s this on Amazon UK, but the model is TP-Link UB400 and was recommended by DrCWO
Thanks Michael
I just found one usb bluetooth dongle in my stuff. It is plugged ln the Pi. How to make sure the device is using it? Is there any ssh magic to be done? Or is there an easiest way? How do you know yours is installed and used by the Nuimo?
Cheers
I didn’t find a way to prove that sorry.
In my house it was dropping off connections non stop and would often not reconnect for hours. With the dongle it’s now a few times a week and if I restart the Pi and Nuimo it’s back inside 20 second’s
For those like me who listen music a lot and experiment issues with Nuimo battery life time. For me, Roon indicates 128h of listening for the past 4weeks.
I found this:
I found the 3d plans here
Then I submitted the plans to 3D printing companies. I just used Google to find them and choose the cheapest offer. Depending on options you select(material, color…) it can be between 50 and 100 euros (or more).
Hoping this help
Fred,
as far as I know until now from very few users this is really a Bluetooth issue. Bluetooth in the Pi is not that strong. So a USB dongle helps and the TP-Link dongle is recognized automatically.
In a normal environment with few WiFi interferences 4m work with a Pi4 in a Flirc case. This is a metal case with a plastic bottom plate. This is where Bluetooth passes through. If you install this case on a metal surface like an amplifier or so it weakens the signal very much so you can loose connection.
Also WiFi might be an issue because it uses the same 2.4GHz channels as Bluetooth. If you live in a suburban area with a lot of WiFi around this might become an issue too.
Anyway the TP-Link dongle is a reliable improvement in these situations. It also might help to run the Pi4 wired.

Very cool thanks.
I move mine about a lot but I really like the idea
This is a cool stand and I also got one 3D printed
Regarding battery life: Nuimo consumes power only if you play music. You can see if it is active at the blinking play-symbol each 4.5s.
In v2.1.0 there will be an option to disable this. But then the Nuimo got unresponsive twisting the dial until you wake it up by pressing it. You can experiment with if v2.1.0 is release hopefully in one week.

You can still move it. Just get it back to the base when needed
Thanks that actually makes sense.
Time to look around for friends I have helped out who have 3D printers
