Please PM me your email address if you would like to test the new version 1.71 via TestFlight.

Works for me with iOS 10.6.2 on A2722 watch.

Hi Dr!

I always was a fond user of rooWatch, but now I have a new iphone 16 pro max, and somehow the app doesnt show up on my phone, let alone on my watch…

If i want to reinstall it, it says ‘purchased’ in the app store. I cant delete or reinstall it, I cant really do anything actually :face_with_monocle:

Any tips? I read a bit about testflight programs, so if I can get this fixed by being on that program, iam happy to help :grinning:

Aaah i got it working, lol. I am used to installing from phone and it then syncs to my watch.

Didnt occur to me to just go in watch app store directly.

Anyway, back in business!

I also cannot use rooWatch as conveniently as advertised.
I’m brand new to it. Everything implemented as described in the manual and on YouTube.

My watch also keeps losing the connection. Only a restart of the app allows me to connect.

I have completely reinstalled rooWatch.
rooExtend: Version 3.4.3
Installed on a RPi 3 Moedel B Rev 1.2
Rpi is accessible in my network (192.168.11.x).

rooExtend extension is activated in Roon and running.

rooWatch: activated, licensed, version 1.1.1, IP: 192.168.11.x
(Running, wait for connection)

AppleWatch - Ultra 2: Version 1.70, watchOS 11.0.1
rooExend Server: 192.168.11.x

Must constantly wait for connection (Dismiss message appears). Sometimes it works - as soon as the watch leaves the app, the game starts all over again. Then it doesn’t work at all again. I have to close the app manually: Double press on physical, round AppleWatch button, select app, swipe left, press “X”

My system is from Unifi and otherwise works perfectly.

Please PM me your email address and I will add you to the TestFlight users for version 1.71, which will hopefully resolve those issues.

Current beta version seems to be getting connected a lot better, but shouldn’t it stay active in the background?

You can enable “keep active” in the settings (swipe down from rooWatch logo).

Yes I always have this selected

rooWatch Version 1.71 is released. This version will fix connection issues with watchOS11.
The App should auto-update if you enabled “Automatic Updates” in the “App Store” settings of the iOS Watch companion app.
TestFlight Beta testers: Please uninstall rooWatch and reinstall from the AppStore in watchOS.

Note:
watchOS will send the App to the background after a certain time and show the watch face to save battery life. I recommend adding a complication for rooWatch to your watch face for quick access to rooWatch. If you want a quicker restart of rooWatch after it was sent to the background enable “keep active” in the rooWatch settings (access the rooWatch settings by swiping down from the rooWatch logo on top).

why cant this install from the iphone? typing and searching is a PITA on the watch…even at 46mm screen…most other watch apps are able to be installed via phone

It’s a standalone watchOS App and thus must be installed from the watch - not sure why Apple does not allow installing from the iPhone. You can use the iPhone keyboard to type when searching.

wow I never spotted that prompt on my phone before :man_facepalming:…freakin’ genius :muscle: all is forgiven

The worst and most complex implementation of a plugin and rooWatch for $80, is this a joke? Wish you much success with that phenomenal business model. rooWatch goes off my watch, asap.

Hi @starcat,
If you already bought a License Key and don‘t want to use the App please mail me at info@definiteaudio.de. I am glad to help and refund your expenses.

Yet it works perfectly for so many of us. Perhaps not for you…

Hi guys,
this is a re-post from @ Juergen_Reis as he missd to post in the support forum here

I am using rooWatch for 1 1/2 year and it has always worked great for me. I have “keep alive” on, so as soon I have rooWatch as the appearing app on my Apple Watch, I do always see, that Roon is playing in the chosen room. So far, so good.

But for the last several weeks, the Keep Alive feature does no longer kept alive. So “error” is not so important for me, so I waited that this will be working again maybe after some Roon Updates or so. But it does not.

I have disabled and enabled this feature back again in order to push this command, but this does not help.

Has anyone have the similar experience (error) and has a solution for it? Thank you very much

Suggestions welcome :+1:

Make sure rooWatch 1.71 is installed (Swipe down from rooWatch logo to access the settings and scroll down for the rooWatch version).
A few words about how “keep alive” works:
Apple is using very aggressive power saving methods on Apple Watch. This means that Apps are put in the background and the watch face appears after a certain time. “keep alive” makes sure that rooWatch is kept running in the background and can quickly be brought back to the foreground (for example using a complication in the watch face). If “keep alive” is switched off, rooWatch will exit when it is sent to the background and disconnects from the rooExtend server. It can be restarted a little slower then using, for example, the watch face complication (this is for users who prefer longer battery runtime over quickly bringing rooWatch back).
The mechanism to keep rooWatch in the foreground forever is not available anymore since it is officially only available for “Self care”, “Mindfulness”, “Physical therapy” and “Smart alarms”.

Thank you very much for your fast reply / answer with an explanation, that this is not a bug but a new “restriction”.

Ok, I will then try to work on the Watchface in order to get rooWatch visible at least on the lower half of the face

Thank you your support
