RoPieee to CXN - Cant play any tracks?

can you send me feedback?

Unique identifier c9ccb00ea305e751

Hmmm
that’s weird. There’s a tool missing on your system.

Could you login and run the following command:

/opt/RoPieee/sbin/run-updates

Sorry that this is so ‘messy’

That worked, I am now running V111!

I tested using USB mode one on the CXN and have the same behavior that I had on V110.

I sent you fresh feedback, let me know if I can provide anything else?

Arrrggh
Can’t stand this. Problem is the same, kernel reports that the device reports an invalid interface.

So far nothing new, but strange that it works on DietPi.

ok. can you send me the output of the command

dmesg

ran on the DietPi card, with the CXN attached?

I created the asound.conf file in the /etc directory and still have the same results. (rebooted everything) sent some fresh feedback.

According the log you placed it in the wrong directory: it’s in /etc/sysctl/asound.conf, in stead of /etc/asound.conf

Maybe you can correct that? In the mean time I also created another kernel update that you can install with

/opt/RoPieee/sbin/run-updates

After this you need to reboot.

Ops, I inadvertently placed it in both locations.

  • I removed the asound.conf in sysctl
  • upgraded to V112
  • rebooted and retested - same results

ok
but we’re on to something here as now the USB device isn’t recognized at all

Ok
just to be sure: you connect the hardware exactly the same right? just replacing the SD card?

Can you remove the CXN, reboot, wait a few minutes and then plug the CXN back in?

I’m clueless. The error message you got seems to be related to power. Anything different (no matter how small) between your setup with DietPi and your setup with RoPieee?

I disconnected the RoPieee rebooted and reconnected.

No difference between DietPi other than swapping cards.

Observation in case helpful:

If the RoPieee and CXN are not connected RoPieee will not normally show up in Roon until they are connected in USB1 Mode.

DietPi it doesn’t matter if I am connected or not or which USB Mode, DietPi will always show up in Roon as long as the DietPi is fully on-line.

Hi

Came in here a bit late – UGH

I have a CXN and RPi running Roipee

Firstly if you are happy with 44/16 then airplay doesn’t need an RPi , you should see it under AirPlay devices in Roon Settings Audio if connected to your network.

In a previous thread after much trying it became clear that CXN has a problem with Linux , setting up the CXN to run on USB 2 simply fails , Harry ( @spockfish) can see this in the logs i sent him so 24/192 is out

Setting the CXN to USB 1 allows 24/96 and you should see that on the CXN display and the Roon Signal Path

My RPi has no additional cards , I downloaded the “Current” Roipee flashed it onto Sd and away it went

Just a few daft thoughts , if you have ethernet connected to the RPi , then there should be no connection to the CXN or it will clash. I suspect that means wi fi too so using CA Connect is out too. Your Remote access should be via Roon and Roon Remotes

I’ll keep up on this thread in case I can help

Mike

See if you get any hints from this

MIke

Hi @john

Did you get anywhere with the CXN on Linux ?

Mike

Hello @Mike_O_Neill,

We’re investigating and testing a potential fix at the moment. We hope to have more news to share soon.
