Description Of Issue

Booting Ropieee hangs on: waiting for ntp synchronization. Only after 4,5 minutes this synchronization is succesful and Roon endpoint becomes available.

It used to boot in about 1 minute but for several months the boot time has gone up to 4,5 minutes and today I found out waiting for ntp synchronization is causing it.

What can I do to speed up boot time?

Hi @E_Richters,

Were there any changes to the network around the time this started happening?

If you switch to using Google or Cloudflare DNS is there any change?

Hi Dylan, thank you for your reply.

Restarting my router, main switch and cable modem did the trick: Ropieee now syncs with the external NTP server within 20 seconds.

If the problem comes back often I’ll try your DNS server suggestion.

Thanks!
