We also discussed looking at Spotify “monthly listeners” as a method of judging popularity and some strange “results”.
These 3 are for context of the most popular numbers.
Obviously not the most scientific or mathematically data driven analysis but it certainly gives some indication of the trajectory of travel in artists popularity and who will be remembered and who might be by and largely forgotten once their initial generation of fans dies off.
And this nearly made me cry!

Looks like I missed a conversation dear to my set-up.
Some highlights from my week and why I missed:
- I was in the studio a good portion of Saturday and Sunday recording a high school jazz band. Tons of fun and reminded me of the fun I had being in band as a youth. These experiences always motivate me to practice more (motivation translated into action is still an issue).
- My mono blocks have a tube input stage and one of the tubes went bad in the left channel. This means my main system is ill and unusable as I found myself without clean tubes.
- I panic purchased PSVANE, Gold Lion, and EH (regular). This gives me 3 “clean” sets to play with and all should be here this week. First up is PSVANE.
My music selection:
- Sister Hazel - The Dreidel Song (Happy Hanukkah to you)
- Duke Ellington - Daybreak Express (this is one of the songs the HS Jazz band played and I was super impressed with their ability. The bands I played in at that age were not this good. I certainly was not this good.)
- The whole album: Isobel Waller-Bridge - Objects (its just fun)
All right… we’ll try again next week but it looks like I may be in the studio again.

I’ve been very pleased with the Psvane Horizon series EL34s in my main amps. Looking forward to your assessment of those different brands.
Merry Christmas on this eve my Roon friends. To reflect on the past year of self-inflicted chaos somehow inflicted on myself, just wanted to take moment and send this message out into the void to say thank you for the good times this chat brings (when I’m able to join).
I should be able to see you Saturday… and…
They did not send me Psvane tubes. That’s a story but … hopefully I can catch you up this weekend.
