I’m glad I’m not alone in my preference for musical melancholia, I’m fortunate enough to have a listening room isolated from the rest of the house or I would never get to listen to half of my collection

The text is by Charles Anthony Silvestri, covering his wife’s battle with cancer (she died, in 2005 I think). You can read the text here. It’s intensley personal, and harrowing. Yet again personal tragedy begets music of the highest order.
