Why does sample rate convert 96 to 48 when Devialet Phantom II speakers are rated 96Mhz?

Because that’s just how the Devialet software works unfortunately.
A SINGLE Phantom can run at 96 but once paired they can only run a max of 48.
Please note this is Devialet software not Roon doing this.

No worries, I was also frankly disappointed when I saw it with my pair of Phantoms.
Still they do sound spectacular “even at 48”

Yep - I will take the stereo over the 96Mhz any day.
