Sample Rate Converstion & MUSE

I run Roon on my mac and play my music through a Wiim Pro Plus. Everything has been great. However, recently I noticed a change. All my files and also all music streamed from Tidal go through three conversion processes that they did not go through before…

  1. Bit Depth Conversion
  2. Sample Rate Conversion
  3. Bit Depth Conversion

The signal path used to be much cleaner and simpler… Source>Wiim>Output

Any idea what has changed and how I can fix it to be like it was before? From what I can tell, everything in MUSE is disabled… Headroom Management, Sample Rate Conversion and all the Filters. Thanks!

Looks like you are now Upsampling everything to 192.
You must have enabled that somehow.
If you turn Upsampling off it should revert to previous signal path.

Make sure sample rate conversion turned off.

I appreciate that, but everything is off. I’m baffled.

Just guessing… could it be a setting inside the Wiim device?

Possibly as SOMETHING is telling it to upsample to 192.

Hello @Chris_Woolman ,

I concur that this looks like a setting from the Wiim itself. Let us know if that solves the issue.

There have been a number of reports of this happening since updates. A reboot of server and Wiim have helped in some cases.

Thanks guys, sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, it was the setting as mentioned above in the Roon. Must have happened as the result of an update, because it wasn’t an issue before. The Fixed Resolution within WiiM was in the on position. It’s now off and everything is back to normal. Thanks again!!!

This is exactly what it was. Fixed resolution was turned on for some reason. Thank you!!!
