Scheduled backup apparently failing, but can't investigate [Ticket Open]

I’ve occasionally seen a little red triangle thing near the upper right of the Roon interface, with text nearby indicating that a scheduled backup has failed for some reason.

So in my Mac Roon application which connects to the Linux RoonServer (both 1.3 / build 234) I go to investigate: Settings->Backups, click the View button by Scheduled backups.

And the Mac Roon application disappears. Blown away.

This is reliably repeatable. Click that View button, instant death for the Roon UI. Not sure if there’s anything in the server log which offers a clue - the server just seems to be reacting to a client which has disappeared. But you’d know better; log snippet below. Is there any way to catch a dump of this dying Mac Roon application?

Exactly the same here but using Windows Roon to connect to a Linux Core.

I set Roon to backup once every 28 days, maximum of 10 backups.

Viewing the backups in Windows shows 227 backups over 2 days total of 961MB in size, Roon displays them in the view backup screen but reports them as corrupted.

Hi @Jeffrey_Moore and @eclectic ---- I just wanted to update you both and let you know that there is a ticket currently in with our team investigating this behavior.

Once I have some more feedback I will be sure to update this thread promptly. We greatly appreciate your patience while we are conducting our investigation.

Hi, my core (linux based) has the same issue, pressing the “view” button makes te client crash (Mac or Windows)
The “backup” and “browse” buttons work.
Deletng the backup target data does not fix the issue.
It seems to be possible that a backup can be created, but I am not sure if the backup is in a consistent state.

Just a small update for now, I restarted the machine running my rooncore and the “view” option is working again, tonight a scheduled backup will start.
I will post an update tomorrow

At this moment the backup feature seems to be working again, it has made 2 backup’s
