Hello Harry - so this DAC actually stopped working with RoPieee a year or two ago - and lazy me just got around to troubleshooting: Tried multiple RoPiees, multpile cables - no joy. I have not tried the beta release yet? I did verify that the Multibit’s USB works fine when connected directly to my Mac Mini…..any thoughts?
What Ropieee endpoints are you connecting to the Modi Multibit and by which connections? Schiit DACs are not endpoints themselves so the issue seems to live on whatever devices you have installed Ropieee.
The logs show these:
Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
So I suggest you start there. For USB cables I advise to find the cheapest, simplest cable that you’ve got lying around and try again. How is the DAC powered?
It’s powered by a Schiit AC wall wart…. I have tried multiple cables. Sounds like even if it works on the Mac…could still have an issue with RoPier…I have tried multiple RoPiers as well…thanks.
The fact that it works on a Mac doesn’t say that much. Different operating system, different way of handling USB devices.
No hubs involved? Just straight device to Pi?
No hubs, the DAC plugs directly into the raspberry pi… the fact that it used to work in this configuration and that I have tried multiple raspberry pi’s and multiple cables I think must indicate a problem with this DAC. Schiit can repair it… But honestly, not sure the juice is worth the $$ squeeze… I appreciate the responses and I love your product.
