The record label Supraphon has an album series called Ancerl Gold Edition, featuring recordings by the Czech conductor Karel Ancerl. Searching for “ancerl gold edition” in the Qobuz app returns over 40 release (album) results.
The same search on other streaming services such as Tidal, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, or Deezer also returns the same 40+ results (click on my links, which will do the search on their respective web players – on most streaming services, an account isn’t needed to browse and search the catalog).
However on Roon (with Qobuz), searching for “ancerl gold edition” returns only two albums. This result is clearly wrong.
It is likely that I see the third album because it is in my Roon library.
The problem in Roon may indeed be caused by metadata, but the streaming services are all interpreting metadata in such a way that their Search still works correctly.
Yup, if Discography shows all the albums, then Filter (which AFAIK is just matching the Filter string with album titles) should do the same… Looks like a bug to me.
PS reporting things in Support > Metadata doesn’t generate a ticket, but all posts here are read by a Roon Labs team, so this should get picked up and passed to the relevant people.
